Suspension Upgrade Questions

Many thanks to all those who posted pics and how to's, couldn't have done it without you. Just finished a complete suspension upgrade, v codes, b mods, Hellwig rear sway bar, RAS, front sway bar bushings and down rods, Skyjacker steering stabilizer, and Rancho shocks all around. Unfortunately I didn't <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <woNotOptimizeForBrowser/> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]-->take any pictures, I was pressed for time to get everything done, but will post some new tips that I came across as well as part #’s. I have a couple of questions though, I ended up with quite a bit of rake when I finished. My measurements before new springs were FL 37”, FR 38 ¼”, RL 38”, RR 38 ¾”. After both rears are at 42” and fronts are at 39 ¼”. I used the original tapered blocks in the rear, did I miss something in the fronts? Also, is it normal for it to squeak in the back and does it go away eventually? Thanks for any input, and any questions for me are welcome.

Just to confirm, you did the modded B codes along with the RAS? Or did you leave the B codes untouched?

Also, did you use new springs?

Thanks for the quick reply. Yep, I modded the b codes and they were new springs.

Adding RAS to the rear of my EX gained me 1 1/2" with no other mods.

Modded B's AND the RAS coupled with just the V code front springs will give a big rake.

If going with just the V's up front, then you should not have modded the B's since you were also putting the RAS on.

Ahh, makes sense, is there anything I can do to raise the front?

Swap in X codes and sell your V's or a mini spring pack are two thoughts.

I'm sure someone else will chime in.

They have different lengths, just type Excursion shackles in their search box. An extra 2 foot leaf from a spring shop should work too, but the shackles will retain the cushy ride.

how exactly do shackles raise the vehicle? are they drop shackles that simply make a larger gap between the frame and leafs?

Right, at the rear of the front spring, look at yours.

Adding leaves like that will raise the truck but might not help bottoming out. (depends on how long they are). Real short ones will only raise the truck. It looks like they would require a longer bolt also.
