Intake Flush??
Of course when you go to a dealer they always have a list of "Recommended" things they want you to do and a list of prices. One thing they thought I really should do was have the Intake Flushed and it would be about $119.00 to do. The girl working the counter that called me with what the Tech recommended wasn't sure what a Intake Flush was and stumbled through what the tech was telling her the benifits would be for $119.00, but it wouldn't be instant it would slowly take time to see these benifits but if I was getting everything else cleaned out I would want that cleaned out as well. After plugs, boots, coil on #3 and a new fuel filter I declined stating that my bank account was getting cleaned out also.
I did a quick search on the forums for Intake Flushing and didn't really see anything. What would an Intake Flush be that Ford thinks is worth $119.00? Sounded like it was a fuel treatment by the way she was talking, and if should be a great one for $119.00, right... If it is something the truck needs to make it safer for my family to drive/ride in, I do not mind spending the money, but that seemed a little excessive for something that I couldn't get a full explination on.
thanks all for your time....

Hey!! What happened to the Bull S**T flag?

They were probably trying to sell you a can of Sea Foam through the brake booster vacuum port. What a deal, only $119.00 for a can of Sea Foam.
The top end clean I used to see done was an additive which was put into some fuel. The vehicle's fuel system was disabled and a device with the fuel concoction was hooked up to the fuel rail so the vehicle ran off the fuel mix coming solely from this device. So yea, basically a fancy fuel additive. It was supposed to clean off all the carbon and what not from the valves, pistons, and combustion chamber.
I wouldn't have relieved myself of $119 for the fuel treatment either. I also wouldn't do the throttle body unless you were having a problem with the engine stalling.
