I have, I think, bad lfters. Motor has 200K + miles and runs fine except after warming up a really bad "knock" comes from the engine, I also lose power. If it is the lifters can anyone give me advice as to how to confirm, replace if necessary or any point me to any "how-to" articles.
it sounds to me like the bearings are shot.
bad lifters would make it sound like its missing on a cylinder or sound like it has a burnt valve.
i think whats happening is that when the motor heats up the bearing tolerances become excessive, creating the knock and loss of power.
