Regen(White Smoke Problem)
Who is still having the white smoke during the regen mode.
I have read so many post but have not clearly found a cure
other than the dealership claims it normal.
I think its really embarrassing to see some of power stokes
doing this.Has anyone corrected there all stock engine from doing this.
If you have corrected it please tell us how it was done.

I think the issue here as gwcon is stating is the moisture in the cac get built up. So when you regen the extra pressures and heat seem to move the moisture out of the cac to be consumed.
Those that two on a regular bases or work the motor hard tend to not have those issues.
I had white smoke once when new and I was traveling cross country. That was 4 years ago.
Never had it since.

Thanks guys ,
Yes I use my truck for towing only on weekends towing a boat,
Never had a smoking problem as long as towing,
When I use the truck as a commuter for getting to work
during the week is when the problems occurs(Yes short trips maybe
10 miles to work then back home) I guessing now this is causing the problems.

Agreed! Work the truck. When I first got mine, I had white smoke at almost every regen UNTILL I started pulling my 5er. The first time that I pulled it hard it went into regen almosts immediantly and white smoke poured. It did that for maybe 15 or 20 seconds then that was it. I have not seen white smoke since, knock on wood. I firmly believe the, "load it down for a pull," scenerio. I have an early Job 1.

I blow white smoke during regens on cool days very predictably, but it clears up after about 1 minute. No fix, and the dealer says it's perfectly normal the 3 separate times I brought it up.
It smokes very predictably during the heat-up phase of regen on cooler days <60F when the CAT/DPF is not fully heated up (around 400F in my case). In my case, it'll smoke immediately after accelerating from a long traffic-light where things idle long enough to cool off and the regen resumes dumping fuel thinking it can burn all of it(??). It behaves like pouring lighter fluid on hot coals.
There was a thread in one of the other forums where a poster knew someone at the factory to discuss this issue, but I never saw a follow-up

Watch 6.4 teardown parts 1, 2 and 3 on youtube. After buying a short block at 126k, i deleted DPF and EGR after the 20000 mile warranty on the new motor. I should mention that i had the factory maintenance for the first 100k. I never missed any oil changes or services. I have always let it idle after driving it.

White smoke
I have had the cac replaced several years ago per a TSB and now I have the white smoke emissions less often. But they ALWAYS occur during either a rain event or during periods of very high humidity. Obviously this is a condensation issue. I actually wondered if it was moisture entering through the air filter and accumulating "somewhere" in the fuel/air mix which then enters the combustion chambers and is expelled when the throttle is "floored".

just this morning i was going up a slight hill doing about 40mph on part throttle and noticed white smoke pouring out the back. truck wasn't loaded with anything. smoke cleared up after about a minute like everyone says. truck was fully warmed up since i just got off the highway where i was traveling at 60mph for about 20 mins.
