97 Expy w/ tranny problem
We just bought a 97 Expy (5.4L auto.), 88k, and just yesterday it started chattering in reverse. Now, when taking off, it feels like you're slipping a clutch. All the gears are fine, and once moving, everything is good unless you try to make it shift aggressively, then it slips. Could this be a torque convertor problem? Or, I read a post that talked about the pumps in the tranny, and how one of the pumps works at lower pressure, and sensor problems for those can cause strange tranny behavior. I've already gotten a lot of great info. from this board, and any help you can give me would be great. By the way, the tranny fluid looks great and is full.
