Ugh, another Monday morning. I wish my vacation was longer.
Morning Chris!

Have a great Monday. Well ... make the best of it you can anyway.
Good morning Michael! Sounds like a good weekend for ya.
Well I just got off the phone with the well guy. He said there was a pencil size hole in the galv. pipe going down to the well. He is going to replace it with pvc. I wonder why they did not put pvc in there the first time? Oh well at least we will have good water pressure again. I said "well" a lot didn't I. Hehehe

Depends on the age of the well, PVC has not been common very long. It's also not as strong as galvenized. My well guy said he wouldn't go deeper than 100' with PVC or there gets to be too much weight on it. Hoepfully that has changed now since I'm over 13 years on the same set up that failed after 12.
I think it depends in the placement of the pump. Mine is at the bottom so not much weight should be on the pipe. I just wonder how a pencil size hole could be in a 7yr old galv. pipe. Seems kinda early to have problems.

7 years does seem like a short service life. Your pump doesn't 'sit' on the bottom. It hangs from the pipe, so the piping holds the weight of everything, or so I am told. I'm not a well expert either.
That is a nice pic Chris. That kinda helps.....but I am still wondering how they are going from galv. to pvc if what Jim says is correct. I think I am gonna have to ask the well guy.
