Evening everyone, Some of my good friends from Hawaii are here in CT tonight, visiting family, I am stoked to go and see them! And the chimney teardown today, turned out to be a stone chimney, so that has been fun.......

Andy, dad is getting better! He is walking the parallel bars and doing about 80 ft before needing a breather. He remembers everything before Aug 2nd, but everything since gets erased easily. He can write and read, but his vision is blurry, and he doesn't stop talking.
Everyday he gets a little better and exceeds all goals and boundaries that are set on him.

We are all very happy and grateful for the recovery he is doing.

I have to ask because I have never seen this before...has anyone heard of concrete being used to save a tree that has lost a limb or leader? We have a tub grinder chewing up all f the trees we have taken down recently .and they have been pulling out concrete chunks and told me they were from old repairs. Clearly they don't do it that way now, but has anyone seen concrete used like this

Not uncommon around here for oldtimer's to have filled a hollow with concrete.
Beware the sycamore!

Just like they would have used roofing tar to seal a pruned limb.
