A carb change is a pretty easy way to get broke in!!! If ya start seeing you have a problem, give us a yell here....Charlie may be physically down, but his brain and fingers at at full strength!!!

I have just about had enough. This guy that is putting the motor in my truck has more drama going on in his life and is more worried about other things than running his shop. He got the motor in and running but the carb was crappy and he was gonna go ahead and get another 2 barrel and swap it out and things should be done. That was a week ago. I'm about ready to go up there with a gas can and drive the thing home running good or not and learn how to swap a carb myself! UGH! Sorry for the complaining guys but I just had to get that off my chest.

Sometimes I wonder what Glenmont looks like - but I bet it looks just like it did ten years ago

What I am telling you is that you should practice driving in a skid zone

Yea me too Pat. Like i was saying, I'm to the point that it's running but after reading around the fourms on here im gonna see what all he has done. I know before he said she would run but once you put it in gear she would fall on her face and from reading on here you need to use a larger diameter return line for the excess fuel. I know he has put a regulator on the line to lower the preasure at the carb and when I drove it around the yard she had power but was sputtering some but that was prob due to the fact that it was just about out of gas.

You have to take the in tank fuel pump out. There is no way to take a 55lb pump down to a 7lb pump. It's probably filling the oil pan with gas. especially if it has no return line

If you have too much fuel pressure on a carb, it will push the needle open, and gas will flow through even if the float is holding the line closed.
I would still use a return line, it will keep you from getting vapor lock on those hot summer days in traffic

Good Morning everyone! Charlie, I went to the shop yesterday and talked with the actual mechanic that has been doing the work on my truck and he told me he did actually swap the pump to get the preasure right and rebuilt the carb so all is good now. He said the only thing he has to do is weld on the proper bracket for the downshift cable for the tranny and all is good.
