Sold the SuperDude, and picked up a 2012 F150. I've ggot the Sync thingy on this, and am wondering where the microphone is for the Bluetoothe? I haven't had a lot of quality time with this thing, but have found a switch on the left [driver side] fender well, under the hood. I'm thinking it's for an under hood light? If not, what is it for?
Trailer towing is a bit disappointing, in that I hooked my empty 20', 7 ton flatbed to it, and the thing sagged, plus, even with the trailer tow package, it seemed to sway more than I like. I hate to see a pickup rearend sagging, let alone the safety issue in my book, so, I had some airbags installed. Haven't tried it yet, but it does appear that it "might" take care of the problem.
I installed a lower grille, and rear fender liners as well. I like this car/truck and do realize it isn't the truck an F250 Stroker is, but this late in the game of life, I really don't need the capacity anymore.
Sounds like the F-150 HD would have been a better choice for you sir. They're not built in large quantities so I believe that most if not all have to be ordered.
Ya, you're likely correct. This is the first I heard of that option. I looked at the towing capacity of mine, around 7600#, if I recall correctly, and figured that would work. I'm not doing any towing over that anyway now a days, and can always get a "real" truck if I need to tow my tractors anywhere. LOL. It just seemed the tongue weight of my flatbed, around 300#-400# at most, shouldn't have sagged the rearend like it did. I'm talking about pretty much leveling the truck out, and to most, that wouldn't bother them, and I can move the equipment around on the deck to prevent that, as long as I maintain some reasonable tongue weight. Thing is, I hate to be blinded by oncoming headlights at night by a saggin' wagon, and I try not to do that to others.
On my 2012 the microphone is just to the right of the drivers sun visor.
Found it, thanks. I thought it might be the little vent looking thingy just to the left of the factory brake controller. Anyone have an idea what that switch may be under the hood?

Just some thoughts and questions.
Thats a 14K # trailer. A bit heavy for a 150! I sure hope thats the Gross weight rating for the trailer.
A weight dist hitch may be in order.
As for the switch.... Is it a hood open closed type switch like for the door jams? If so and it has remote start. It is likely a safety switch for the remote start.
I went out to my truck and tried the remote start with the hood up. NO GO.
Pressed the button down and tried the remote. Worked just right until I let the button go. Engine died.
There you go. Safety switch.
Well. I don't have remote start. I wonder in that case if it's just the standard harness for our trucks, and it was cheaper for Ford to make one harness fits all?

Yes, that's the max gross for the trailer. I bought it years ago to move bobcats and compact tractors around. I sure wouldn't load it to max behind an F150.
