Guys, I need help in a bad way! I got home tonight and my truck will not start! I don't know what to do. I thought that it may need a jump-start, but when I tried to jump it off, the truck's lighting got brighter and it barely wanted to do anything else. It didn't really turn over, it kind of "bumped" and then I heard the "dead battery click." I believe that noise is the one from the starter solenoid to better clarify for you all. What is it that I can do to fix this problem? I left my truck hooked up to my car for about 10 mins. and nothing. I had my g/f rev the car's engine and nothing. So I wanted to get some advise from you all... I'm hoping that it's something easy to fix. Maybe a dead battery or alternator, but if I can't get it to start by jumping it off, I can't get it to a place to get either system tested. Is there maybe something to do with the Securilok system?
Julian,
Last week my truck would not start, the solenoid would click but nothing at the starter. I started to pull the starter and found the wire from the solenoid had broken at the starter,I put a new end on it and it is fine.I hope this helps!!

Same thing happened to me. Wouldn't jump. Put in a new battery and all was good. The old battery was cracked around the post but it was also six years old.
