I've seen these TPMS19 Motorcraft Remote Tire Pressure Sensors for sale on Amazon for $50 to $100. But I've seen very little explaination. Are they just for recalibrating which tire is which? Or do they actually have an effect on how much pressure will trip the system?
Also, anybody seen a device which can actually tell us the pressure of each tire? Or maybe just which tire is low, when the system starts its dinging noises? I've seen add-ons for trailors, but how about the truck's tires? Is this info available to the OBD port?
Does anybody know of a way to satisfy the system with a reduced pressure? I drive unloaded frequently, and prefer to have my tire pressure around 45psi, but that sets off the alarm....
I've seen commercial devices that appear to do it, but they cost thousands of $$$!
The only way to satisfy the system is to program the computer. I had mine done here in Canada by a dealer I got to agree to having it done. I doubt you will find one in the USA that will do it as TPMS is legislated down there and dealers are forbidden to touch it. I had to do some convincing just to get my rears lowered to 65 like the F250's down from the factory setting of 80.
