thinking about 49's
Ok guys so i have a factory 2001 4x4 excursion. im looking to lift it but also install the cutout flares so i dont have to lift it nearly as high as i would without the flares. originally wanted 40s, then 44s, now i think i just want to go big from the get go and run these 49s

let me start by saying i will be doing NO off roading. this is just for a street setup, drive to work a couple days a week/fun weekend type thing.
this guy is running 49s on a 6" lift with the flares. i was actually planning on ordering a rough country 8" SD lift (i know not the BEST, but should it be good for just normal street driving?), and i've heard SD lifts will give us 2" more so it should give me about 10"?

so if i do that plus the flares, what else would i need to change? i noticed that guy in the video put new axles. do i NEED them, or will stocks work? will i need to re-gear (not even sure what my truck is now, 01 v10 4x4)

no offense but this is what i think of
i know its your truck and all power to ya when it comes to your decision, but personally i think that much tire is just a waste of money time and wear and tear.
good luck with it if you go for it you will be king of the roads for sure.

I just want it to stand out, there's not that many modded excursions in my area, but there are a lot of super duties, and most are on 37" tires on average. I want mine to stand out. And to be honest it won't be too much higher than those trucks because it'll have the same amount of lift since ima have the cut out flares.
