if the truck is used for two dump runs out of a whole year,then it's not worth registration or insurance,nor parts,nor maintenance.let alone used tires too.
it would be far,far,far cheaper to simply just pay someone to haul away your dump,or rent a truck twice a year than keep a truck not worth putting tires on anymore.
edit;
your used small utility trailer idea for explorer is also sound.
don't be afraid to spend even less than 5-6 hundred to find a lighter duty/smaller one to double up your trips.4 trips per year is still very manageable.
run a GL ad: full size running truck.swap for utility trailer.
Why not get wheels that are the same size the F-150 Lightening? To my knowledge, they are the same size as the stock regular F-150.

Please tell me of a wheel LIKE a lightning's that will bolt on his truck
It seems to me that even $30 - $40 each used tires or cheap new tires for that matter, will be cheaper than wheels and larger used tires....
I agree it would be cost effective to sell the truck and hire your dump runs out..... If you used the truck for anything else it might be a different story....
Solved the problem, at least temporarily. Sometimes I can't see the forest for the trees...:-(
Putting a new set on the Explorer, moving the Explorer tires to the F150. This solves two immediate issues: Gets F150 running for a couple trips to the dump; makes the F150 more attractive to sell/trade for utility trailer.
I really like the trade idea. Will see it that can come to fruition. Thanks for the idea FORDF250HDXLT
Thanks for all your input, and the help. It is always helpful to get some other ideas, as most times we get stuck on what we are thinking, and fail to look at the larger picture. At least this 70+ year old has gotten to that point. ha, ha
