My god I'd love a 70's Econoline 4x4! Don't care what engine it has, as long as it's 4x4 with tall skinny tires, and sit nice and tall like that, sitting on steel rims and hubcaps

Idk, I kinda like the wide tire look on a 4x4. Steel wheels yes, hubcaps maybe. But I think a 460 or a diesel is the only way to go. Anything smaller I think it would be a gutless wonder.

Well with having two now I might have to sell the blue one to keep the wife happy so if your interested...it comes with the hubcaps
Those are two beautiful vans. Glad they are being appreciated now. What makes you want the 77' over the 78'? The billet grill on the 350 is nice, really adds some character to an already nice front end. Does anyone know of a source for these grills? Generation 3's are my favorite. Good luck.

The 250 has a better body, the 350 is nicer on the inside has more options... I want to keep both make 250 my cruiser??? change out the C6 for AOD overdrive, put some taller gears try to get better MPG. The 350 my off roader/camping rig. Maybe paint them the same???
C6 is WAY the hell beefier than an AOD. Not even in the same ballpark. I wouldn't drop an AOD in an E250. The 460 uses a big block bell pattern anyway. Your only choices are the C6, the E4OD, or a handful of manual transmissions. You could get an ~800 dollar conversion kit, but i sure as hell wouldn't use it in a truck/van application.
Besides, even if an AOD mates to the engine, contrary to popular belief, there is a lot of additional fabrication that must be done. Your 4x4 equipped van makes it even more extreme. You will need a new transfer case, mounts, two drive shafts, new transfer case linkages, etc etc.
Anyone have any real live experience with the gear vendor overdrive? What kind of mileage improvements can be expected? I too have two Pathfinder 4x4 vans and they truly enjoy gasoline! And I agree with the argument not to go with the AOD.
That's a tough one... I have $3500 into it, new battery, new carb. If I get my settlement I'm waiting for... I want to keep it but if the right offer came along...
Wow those are awesome!!! How do you all find these? And at those prices! There is a 77 for sale close but its wrecked (the whole back end) and he still wants 3500!!
