Thinking that was his problem. There were no tire tracks or smoke coming from the front wheels, which was why the Touareg easily pulled him.
Those Touareg's aren't light, and 5,000 lbs on four wheels will beat 3,000 lbs on two wheels every single time. Some folks don't get how power doesn't win these; traction does.
He snapped the half shaft on the drivers front. Chevy still hasn't beefed the front end up enough for the Dirtymax, and pulling!
Wow...just went and looked at the comments and then at the video again. Not sure about the half shaft, but his front tires are pointed at each other.
Here's my favorite comment:
He lost because he has zero chances of winning unless the guy who drives the VW is an idiot and lets him win. a V10 diesel in a well built well thought out german truck, or a V8 in a plastic truck built by fat guys in Kentucky. It was an obvious, clear win for the VW and always will be in this battle lol
While we have a certain amount of brand loyalty here on FTE, the majority of us typically have some semblance of reality and common sense. THIS guy clearly demonstrates none of that.
Pretty confident that a stock truck would have owned the Touareg. Even with a relatively weak front end they should be able to spin all four wheels on concrete and not break something. But when you put on a lift and big tires without beefing any of the supporting systems this kind of thing is bound to happen.
Well, according to this guy on the internet (of course being on the internet means you know everything) said it has a v10 diesel so I'm sure that's the case.
He sounded so intelligent as well, it must be true!
They actually do have a V10 diesel, and it is pretty impressive! I believe that the Porsche Cayenne? runs this same engine (Options on both). I am pulling these numbers from an old Top Gear (the bbc one) but I think over 500hp, and around 700ish torque. As you can imagine, the German's have developed a hell of an AWD/4WD system for these two!
