Help with price?

Hey guys, I'm looking for your opinion on selling my X. Its a sad time for me, but I have to sell her. So I just wondering what your guys opinion is on the price. it's a 2000 limited V10 129k on the clock with no problems it is very clean inside and out. I'm asking $8200. I did the NADA and KBB and that is about what they said but I'm just looking for other opinions as well.

Thanks in advance

I wouldn't say so, just hang in there. People cringe to think about the MPG but not the people that need the space and towing capability.

Selling an ex is more of a waiting game. Right now big gas trucks are a tough sell. Someone will come along looking for that exact type of vehicle. FWIW I paid 8200 for my 00 7.3 X with 270,000 on it. Don't get discouraged and lower the asking price. Someone will come along who understands a well cared for truck with no hidden issues. My me CL is flooded with 200,000+ miles all gas going for 5k. The stupid mentality of people is " I can get the same thing just with a little more miles did half the price! There's a reason there cheap

Yeah I figured that anyone that comes and looks at it should know about the Mpgs, I havent had any low offers yet. But I do see what you mean about the mentality. Well I guess I'll just keep on waiting. I did have a couple with 6 kids come and look at it last night. They wife tried to compare it to a suburban. I just said in the most polite way I could that there is no comparing the two.

Just hang in there. I have a similar story. The vehicle I had before I got the Excursion was a 2000 Durango the the 5.9L V8. (Only 130k miles, 4.56:1 gears, added leaf in rear, Bilstein shocks, Hawk brake pads, Flowmaster 50, rebuilt tranny similar to a BTS tranny for the Excursion) I had it on CL for several months with only like 2 phone calls and NO ONE even came to look at it. It was super clean too. I had dropped the price all the way to like $5,000.

One night I got a text from someone wanting to know if I would be willing to trade. I've gotten requests like this before and they are usually not worth my time but I said I'd look at it.

She had a 2001 Corolla. Short version of the long story is I did trade with her and had two people in my driveway at the same time the next morning trying to buy the Corolla. I got $6,500 for it like 16 hours after posting it. (Which is almost $2,000 more than I would've taken for the Durango.)

Pay to run it on Auto Trader .com that's where I sold my last X took about 2 months at Christmas time. But locally I only got tire kickers.

Try Cars.com...

I posted my 2005 V10 on there and no bull...my first call was less than an hour after I posted it...I thought for sure it was a scammer...but the guy gave me his email...I replied to the email and gave him my phone number...he called me back less than an hour later!

He didn't end up buying the Ex...but I had my second response less than 5 days later...a couple of emails with pictures and a couple of phone calls and the Ex was sold within 2 days of that...

It is all about finding the RIGHT buyer...mine was looking for an Ex to move his larger family and haul a trailer...they are out there...and the Ex's are hard to find since they aren't being made any longer!

Good luck...I can't help you on price...but I did get a very nice price for my 2005 with 59K miles...I am happy...

Joe.
