What exactly does this intail? I've been fighting an intermittant lack of power for about 2 years. My mechanic pulls the codes and we started with a good tune-up, including wires and distributor cap;then a fuel pump relay switch & filter; next an O2 sensor, MAP sensor, EEC relay, a fuel pump, and the external fuel check valve.
I drive it this AM and the "check engine" light comes on. I drive to the shop, and it goes out about a block away. Again they pull the codes and determine it was a vacume on I think he said the EGR. Anyways he "fixed" it for free.
On the way home, I didn't get the engine light, but I could still feel the itermittant loss of power. It's not as drastic as it once was where you had to floor it to maintain 55 mph, but I can feel the drop in power.
