LMAO!! Yeah but most people don't hang out on FTE and analyse everything to death like we do.

The FTE crowd is a group of folks that most sales people really don't want to deal with.

The reasons to get a cover should be:

Security
Appearance
To keep cargo dry and out of sight
Because you want it.
that is correct! 4 different trucks all purchased with out covers, that I hand calculated fuel milage with before I installed covers on and after the covers were on, not one bit of difference!

I know that the extang encore is not a retractable cover, but is a solid folding cover similar to the bak flip, except that it also opens up from the front to drop a duffle bag in or get that can of paint that rolled to the front, cover is well built and extang stands behind their product!

There is also this company which I thought looked like a great cover as well. I would have to mess with both in person to make up my mind. I really like the remote and how it locks to the tailgate.

M-Series

E-Series

The E-Series was discontinued for about a year. The new E model will be available in October although RNL already shows it on their website. There have been changes to the motor.

Other good retractable covers are:

TruckCoversUSA
RetraxPro (aluminum instead of Lexan-which is called the RetraxOne)

Pace Edwards also has a couple of retractable covers, but long term durability is questionable. Bak has the Rollbak, but I don't care for it.

I looked at the Roll N Lock display right beside the Retrax before I bought mine. It was a hard decision because i really liked it. The thing that made me go with Retrax was the Roll N Lock has a vinyl covering on the top. I didn't want to have to put anything on it every so often to condition the vinyl and didn't want to have to worry about the vinyl tearing someday. Like I said, it was a hard decision because they both seemed like great products, I just wanted one without the extra maintenance. Good luck with your choice.
