pipe??

Hi all
Tired of paying stupid prices for for fuel filter for my 7.3 IDI so i was thinking of converting it to a cheaper filter and one more easily available here in the UK, my question is what is the thin fuel line going from the filter head to the injector? can I block this pipe off and run without it?

That "thin line" is a fuel return line. It helps get the air out of the injector lines if you ever run the tank dry. You can remove it, as it was one of Ford's quick fix for air intrusion. But in my opinion, it should be on the truck. That short piece of fuel hose should be under a couple of bucks to replace.

Hey Tom
It's not the thin line that's the problem, it's the price of the fuel filters over here in the UK, they're asking around £60 each, that's going on for $100 in your money, I was thinking of changing the filter head to a UK one so i can get UK filters at around £10 each, I was just wondering what to do with the thin fuel line as our filter heads do not have this you see.
Thanks for the reply
Phil
