steering column difference ?
hi can someone tell me the difference between a 69 f100 2wd and 4wd column ? my truck has been converted to p/s and I believe it has a shorter
4wd column in it and now I cannot find a directional switch for it

switch problem
my problem is the plastic part that holds the horn spring contact is too high. when I removed the steering wheel to check why the horn was not working that part was broken off and the spring contact was missing. I replaced the switch and the steering wheel will not go down all the way. so I had to put the old broken switch back in. I have a grant steering wheel and tried 2 different adapters, both do not have enough clearance for the horn contact.
any info will be greatly apreciated

Who converted it? Maybe they cut the shaft instead of getting the correct shorter one and cut it too much. Or maybe they've got some jacked up mess at the bottom bearing that's keeping the shaft down too far, who knows? You might start by finding the proper steering shaft.

Horn doesn't work. On the outside of the steering wheel, visable when the button or ring is removed, is the horn brush and insulator (C2OZ-13A821-A).
Brush has a thin copper wire that snaps. People remove the steering wheel, either the brush or both parts fall out, usually unnoticed.
Then when steering wheel reinstalled, the horn no longer blows, people wonder why.
