Ford 8BA Flathead V8 & Transmission

Category: Engine - Complete Motors
Price: $300
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits (you may select multiples): Accord, CRX & pre '92 Civic, Hybrids
Item Condition: MN
Engine: Part suitable for gas truck

I've got a Ford 8BA Flathead V8 engine and transmission that came out of a 1951 Ford F1 truck I parted out.

It was not in running condition when I bought it.

It's missing the carb, air cleaner and ignition coil. They are not in the pictures but I do have the fuel pump and the transmission shifter.

The engine will turn over by hand most of the way. But it won't turn over all the way. I'm not sure if it's got a stuck valve or if it has some rust or something in one of the cylinders. I haven't pulled the heads off it. Both waterpumps are seized.

This came out of a truck that sat for quite a while.

I don't have any use for this and don't have the room to store it.

I'm located in Lonsdale, MN ( 55046 ) which is about a half hour south of the Twin Cities.

I'm asking $300.00/B.O. for the engine & transmission.

If no one is interested in this I'm going to pull some parts off it to throw on epay. And the rest gets scrapped at the end of the month.

Do you still have this engine? I need some parts off of it if you want to part it out. I need the fan with the fan pulley, the crankshaft pulley, the oil filter housing and the left side exhaust manifold.

I've still got the engine. I'll have to pull the parts and make sure they are all in good shape.

And I might have someone interested in the oil filter assembly.

Give me 2 or 3 days to get the parts pulled.

And can you tell me your zip code so I can check on the shipping cost once I get the parts pulled.

I was under my truck last night. The right side manifold is cracked too. I will need both sides.

Sorry I haven't got all the parts pulled yet. I got the right exhaust manifold off and it was cracked and had a bad booger weld job on it. I'll pull the left one and check it out.

I'll get the rest of the stuff pulled asap.

I got the parts pulled.

The left exhaust manifold looks good, no cracks. But it does have some pitting on the bottom and will probably need new studs installed.

Here's some pics of it.

Here's a close up of the pitting.

Here's the studs.

Here's the oil filter housing.

Crank pulley.

The fan assembly. The fan looks good except the one edge has a minor ding.

If you are still interested in the parts send me a PM.

I pulled the heads and some other parts off the Flathead.

Once the heads were off I tried turning it over and it spun over fine. It does have one broke valve and possibly some bent valves. But the block itself looks good ( needs a good clean up ) . I didn't see any cracks and it's a standard bore. I really don't want to scrap a good flathead V8 block. But I have no room for it.

So if anyone is interested in this I will take $100.00 cash for it. You get the short block with intake manifold, oil pan and flywheel with the clutch.

This is a pick up only deal. I don't want to deal with shipping it.

If nobody wants it, Friday ( 12th ) I'm pulling the pan off it and throwing it in the scrap.

hey, is the motor still around? I know it's too late, but thought I'd try. Located in NW Iowa, and sure would consider taking it off your hands depending on where exactly in MN you are. We're located in the Alton/Orange City, IA area.
Thanks,
Sam

Your lucky I was delayed on my scrap hauling. I still have it as it looks in post #11. If you want it, $100 as it looks in post #11. If not I'm dropping the oil pan tomorrow. I'm making my scrap run this Friday. If you seriously want it and can pick it up soon I'll hang onto it.

you are about 210 miles south west of me. My zip code is 55046 ( Lonsdale, MN ) .

If you are interested let me know ASAP.

If you still have the transmission, I am very interested. Is it a 3 speed column, or a floor?
