2004 F250 Build
I have been lurking around here for a while enjoying the wealth of knowledge available
I have been a Ford guy ever since I got my license in 2004. I have a 94 Ranger (my first vehicle) and I am an active member of the Ranger Station. Check out the Ranger build here.
Anyway, I have been on here for about a year. Last October I bought a 2004 F250. I had been looking for a while for a replacement DD while my Ranger went under the knife. I also needed something to cart my Suzuki 750 King Quad around. I found mine at a buy here pay here dealership on Craigslist.
2004 F250 XL
5.4L V8
ZF-6 Manual
Mechanical Transfer Case
Manual Lockouts (No Auto setting)
Factory 4.10s w/ LS
Factory 265/75R16 Tires
It has everything I wanted plus A/C (a big upgrade from the Ranger).
I have left it alone until recently when I decided it was time to put some money in it. So far, I have added:
Pioneer Head Unit w/ Bluetooth
Silverstar Headlights
K&N Replacement Filter
Autolite Double Platinum Spark Plugs
Much needed Alignment
New Fuel Filter
Cooper Discoverer AT3 Tires (265/75R16)
Amsoil Synthetic 5W20 Signature Oil (not really an upgrade, but really expensive )
Goodyear Gatorback Belt
I have but not installed yet:
Rancho 9000XL Shocks (Arriving tomorrow! )
5 100w Stainless KC Daylighters
Factory 8 Hole Aluminum Wheels (need refinished)
On the todo list:
Clutch Kit (stock one makes nasty sounds until everything is at operating temp)
OTRATTW Switches
Light Bar for the front
Coolant Flush and Thermostat
AMSOIL Tranny Fluid and External Filter
AMSOIL Bypass Oil Filter
AMSOIL Gear Lube and AFT for the Power Steering
Chassis Saver Undercoating
Rust repair on the the body and then Monstaliner the body line
Replace the cracked grill
Replace busted corner light
Cab Roof Lights
N-Fab Step Bars
Exhaust, Headers, and Y-Pipe Mod
5 Star Tuning
Autometer Gauges
Many other things... No lift or bumpers for a while...
Anyway, some pictures:
Feel free to make suggestions or let me know if you want to get rid of any of the parts I need
Check out my Ranger build at the top if you want to see more technical work, this will be pretty mild of a build and it will take me a while. Damn beer tends to slow my progress.
I am wizkid00104 on The Ranger Station - Your Ultimate Ranger Resource and Suzuki ATV Forum if anyone is on those.
Cheers!

And thanks for the welcome!

If I ever wanna get rid of it I'll hit you up
But from what I've seen a 5.4L 6 Speed is tough to come by. I realized that when I was looking for a truck in the first place. My 2.3L 4 Banger 5 speed 4x4 Ranger is fairly rare too. I seem to have a desire for hard to find...

Shocks came in!
They look great. One of the rear ones decompresses very slowly(regardless of the valve setting) and it has some nicks in the finish, so I am going to call Rancho tomorrow. Has anyone had this problem?
I have them all set to the softest setting in the photos. Western PA roads suck, so I am going to start soft and get firmer as needed.

Well I got the shocks installed a while back and had to fight the shop on the inspection with stupid little quirks. I've been traveling a lot for work and slowly continuing to put my Ranger back together.
I picked up a grill in much better shape than mine with no chrome as well as '99 F450 factory roof marker lights. I am going to polish the lenses and they will be ready to go on. I am going to begin work on this as soon as the Ranger is complete. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
We are taking the truck on vacation this summer so I am going to try and get a few things done before then. We are going on the 4WD of Nags Head, NC and I want to have my rust proofing done by then. I need to put a tonneau cover on it, and I may put a safari rack on the roof. I want to switch my headlights for the 05's I have and get the KC's mounted with Carling switches. May throw new running boards on and change the muffler and add the SPD y-pipe. Only time and budget will tell...
This is what I am aiming for with the roof rack:

Love that manual trans! That was a requirement for me when I first started truck shopping back in 2007. After several months of finding NO trucks within driving distance with a manual trans, I settled for the auto.
Looking forward to your progress updates.

I have found a few manuals up here in PA, but this one is the only extended cab I have found. I really wanted a crew cab, but I found 0 of those. The Carfax indicates that is was a work truck for an oil company in southerrn West Virgina. It was in decent shape and the price was right, so I went for it.
