Brake Pads

What kind of brake pads are you all using? I've got the Hawk LTS on all 4 corners right now and need to replace the fronts. The passenger side wore quicker than the others due to a stuck slide pin. I am thinking about getting the Hawk SD pads. Thoughts?

I have Hawk SD pads on all 4 corners along with Raybestos R-300 rotors. Overall they work well and really grab hard once they got some heat in them. My dad has had the SDs on all 4 corners of his truck for a few years now. Make sure to follow Hawks "Burnishing" procedure right after the install. If the box does not have the procedure on let me know I still have an older box with the procedure on it.

I do remember following the pad bedding procedure with my LTS pads. Have you tried the LTS pads?

I have the SD pads. They have a lot of metal in them and I have noticed more noise with these pads than any other pad. And yes I followed the break in procedure to the letter. I will use the LTS pads next time.

Have never had the LTS pads. My dad had some squealing issues with his first set of SD pads on the front but he did not bed them in. He got had to do his rear brakes so he got the his front powerslot rotors turned and kept the Hawk pads. I bedded them in for him then and that got rid of the squeaking.

I have Oriley Auto brake pads. I have the mid grade ones and I am not impressed. I dont do any crazy heavy towing, and I have experienced brake fade, the rear ones squeal, and they dont have more than normal stopping power. But you get what you pay for, right?

I had the SD pads with the oem rotors. These pads warped my rotors! I had no worn or sticky calipers or pins. I only have 15k on the pads and they look brand new but I had to throw them away. Now I use powerslot rotors and mid-grade local store pads and they grip just as good if not better than the Hawks. If the LTS worked for you before consider using them again?

I will never buy Hawks again. I do highly recommend EBC greenstuff pads. Low fade, long lasting, quiet, and very low dust.

And what is your reasoning for not using Hawk pads Rudiak?

They ate my rotors and there are better pads out there. Just my experience.
