which intake manifold?

I need some help deciding which intake manifold to buy. I have narrowed it down to the Weiand Stealth after reading a lot of threads. The problem I am running into is that there are two weiand stealths for the 460. One is the 8021 which is supposed to be for 460, 429, and CJ. The other is a 8012 for stock heads. My concern is that the summit compatability charts say that neither will work for my 78 F350 460 2x4. I have stock D3VE-A2A heads and don't plan to ever upgrade them other than some porting someday. I think the one I want is the 8012 but want to make sure. Thanks for the help Guys.

Sam

Summits compatibility charts are not to a "T" because they say Edelbrock carbs won't go on a Ford 400. But any way I would go with a 8012. I'm surprised you for a dual plane Wieand all I could find is single planes.

thanks that is what I figured. Here is the link to both the manifolds from summit's ebay store

8012
Weiand Stealth Intake Manifold 8012 Ford 429/460 Fits Stock Heads 032474801203 | eBay

8021
Weiand Stealth Intake Manifold 8021 Ford 429/460 Fits Cobra Jet Heads 032474802101 | eBay

Their Ebay store is slightly cheaper than their online store.

Hey RockDawg84, this is a timely thread as I too have been researching and thinking about installing a different intake manifold on my 74 460. I'm curious of your opinion.....why did you decide on the Weiand manifold instead of the Edelbrock performer or others? Also, are you expecting much performance difference with a new intake? I don't know of anyone around here that has made the change so I havent been able to really get their opinion. thanks.

there were a couple of reasons that I chose to go with the Stealth. The first was this thread form 460ford.com

intake manifold pecking order - 460 Ford Forum

I don't have a race motor or anything, I just wanted a manifold that was good from idle to 5500. The Stealth is a good dual plane manifold and is good to 6500. It should serve me well.

The second reason is that the Stealth is about a 100 bucks cheaper than the performer 460. So I figure that it will do the job. I hope so anyway.
