Congrats! Wait til he looks you in the eye and smiles for the first time. I don't care what anyone says, for me that was the greatest feeling I've ever felt. Our daughter just turned six months old a week ago. It's all kinds of fun when they're old enough to kinda play with a little more.

Right on at the 6 month thing. They do seem to first get there personality about then. At that time they become a little person. With expressions, talk, giggles and all sorts of stuff ya never seen them do before.
