Ceramic brakes? What do you do with the truck and what kind of performance do you have? Ceramic quieter but slower but not as much stopping power metallic brakes are better for heaver loads but the do make more noise. So it really depends on your driving needs.
I had the box from my last purchase of Hawk pads and the ones I got are close to that. The ones you list sound real good also, maybe better, I don't know. When I put in the search for hawk pads in Summits web site I went down the 'narrow' your search and came up with the 'red' box instead of the 'green' box you listed. My 'red' box pads are working great, I don't know if the 'green' would be better? IDK

I had to replace the front pads on my '97 in August. it is the second set of pads I have changed! the factory pads went to about 145,000 miles. the replacement went to 221,000 miles. so from that my recommendation would be original equipment. NOT motorcraft. but find a dealer with new old stock of original pads.

You did that towing that 20K loads of hay?? I tow what is in my signature and at 208k miles I'm on my third set of pads. To me this is normal wear stopping 16k towing this 80% of the time. That's very interesting your experience, I might look at a dealer to see if they have an set of old stock original pads, thanks for your input helifixer.
You lost me Aaron, of course that's not hard to do.
Just that usually in my line of work when we get to talking brake pads its either light weight drag brakes or (my refrence was for) road course use.THEN I went on a tangent of an obs slinging it throught the twisties at watkins glenn or somewhere like that.haha...I know I have a sickness...the meds arent working!
