Yea its a rust bucket.. it has a lot of potential.. i have those dana 60's sitting on top of that f100 frame.. not sure which truck im gonna throw them in now..
Choose wisely haha. Yeah i have plenty of experience with rust.. It sucks..
TBH lol my 63/ i looked up the vin.. turns out its a 64 f100
it had less rust than this bronco.. only floors and cab corners had rust.. bed sides were junk anyways
gonna start making a list
Needs:
new coil springs
shackle brackets installed..
old leaf spring bushings pressed out
new leaf spring bushings installed
not sure but maybe new u bolts installed if i have to drop the one side of the axle
rear differential gasket.. service the diff.. new fluid
not sure why the lights stay on when i use keyless entry.. when it gets dark..
i have to unplug the battery when it does it..
some body work... but if someone buys it before that.. not sure then.. lol
just some blah blah from before
Goodies
drivetrain leak free
interior
oil pan
water pump
new muffler needs to be installed
Just a list of what i have to get r done
one exhaust flange is broken and both exhaust gaskets leak..
does anyone think i should just bypass egr and throw headers on there or just redo the exhaust manifold gaskets and call it a day..
pretty sure its the flange.. but a couple hours and $40 in gaskets make sense
Thats not too bad of a list. The list for my 78 is ever growing.. I can't name all the things i want to do to it but it's more of a pipedream. I don't have a clue on the lighting issue, which lights are staying on? I have a feeling it is something within the computer..
So it appears you fixed it. Good job. It does sound pretty good but i think maybe some timing is in order and a few other odds and ends. It's coming along though.
I didnt think a tune up could take 4 hours... idle smoothed out with some revs.. Next is cap and rotor.. 3 in lift is coming if that guy takes my other bronco
Haha let's hope there isn't any surprises under the cap. For me and my 78 a quick tune of the carb turned into a half a week project. I didn't see. It but the 2 wires going to the coil were cut and twisted together so when they got moved it lost connection. Unfortunately we neglected to check the wires and ended up replacing the dizzy altogether... Then my neighbor came over and pointed out the wires and after re splicing them it worked fine...
I pulled the cap before and the rotor had some metal on it.. but it wasn't too bad..
Cap lookd pretty clean.. its time to replace.. worth $10-25 for a cap and rotor
Wires didn't make sense.. just dirty.. not brittle at all
