heater box question

Will the heater box from an 95 f-150 fit an 89 f-250? Can't really get any good pic's to see if it will interchange. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I need the plastic housing. Mine melted from an exhaust leak where the manifold meets the tailpipe. I can't get it new. I was kinda hoping for the whole heater housing I guess. While its apart I'm going to drop in a new heater core since they are cheap enough. What's shipping to 21078 and any cost or fees?

I can show you a picture of a 94 without the box on the cab if that'd help ya in anyway?

Back side of the box itself too.

Naturally if you already have yours off? be no help at all.

Melted to point can't simply fiberglass over effected area? paint it black call it a day?

It's still in truck. I had to bypass the heater core because it started leaking anti-freeze in the cab. So I think it's beyond fiberglass. Plus need to replace core now anyway so might as well replace box. I was pulling a 9,000lbs camper so the heat got pretty bad. I'm lucky I didn't burn my truck up but I was 2 hours away from home with my infant son in the truck.

Yea was afraid of that, too far gone.

The heater core isn't in that "box", easy to get to after remove glove box.

Box is fairly easy to remove, hardest two bolts to get to will be those between the fender and the box itself.

Will need a deepwell 11mm, long extension.

Two down low removed from inside the cab. Four from under the hood, two of those between box and fender, one top about center and one at upper right corner.

The vac lines disconnected up under dash under heater core and wires unplug behind passenger side cowl panel.

(Just in case you wondered what held it in and where! in a "95" I should add)

Might try car-part.com. They probably won't list the housing, but if you search for other parts for your truck you can find out which yards nearby have the truck you need the housing from. Then just call and ask them, from my experience the smaller yards are usually a better bet, but not always.

Good Luck

according to car-part.com they should interchange

for the heater core, very easy to change. it is around a 20 minute job.
open the hood, and remove the lines from where they go into the box. stick the hoses into the hood hinge to hold them up so no coolant drains out.
go inside the truck and open the glove box. remove the 3 or 4 screws holding the cover on. remove the box insert. look in and you will see i think it is 6 bolts on the heater box. remove those bolts, and remove the heater core. clean the junk out of the box, and install in reverse order.
