For some time now my engines had a squeak squeak squeak noise that changes with the RPM's. I replaced the belt, idle pulley and tension pulley in effort to kill it. its coming from around the alternator but I don’t think that’s it is their anything else on that side that could squeak an emissions valve or something?
My smog pump below the alternator was a real screamer. Once replaced, mine calmed down. Don't know, but it could be it. Only cost about $35. from auto parts store and took less than an hour to replace.
Take the fan clutch off and see if it stops. Try shooting some Liquid Wrench into the bottom of the distributor (inside the cap). If you get desperate, just take the whole belt off and see if it still makes the noise (don't run it too long ).
i to had this annoying squeak. it turned out to be the fan clutch.does it do it when the engine is cold?when my truck WAS NOT running i could turn the fan by hand and i could hear the squeak.also when the engine was hot and i turned it off i could here the squeak for maybe 1 second until the fan stopped spinning. good luck
