Any shocks for the x should work. The rear especially. When I get new shocks they will be for a 250 on front and standard x size on rear.

I am going to change my springs, just got back from my first camping trip and vehicle was all over highway with camper and do not like the handling without trailer. My question to golfmedik is,, I have a 2005 4 wd v10, was looking at the sdTruck site and was wondering if the front springs would be too much for a v10 , see you have a diesel. Thanks, and any reason you didnt go with their oem replacement. Or would that just be same as you already had.... Thanks. Pardon me just learning

I put V-code springs on my X just a couple of weeks ago, and I like the slightly firmer ride. I gained less than 2" up front, and the ride is similar to my last two Super Duty pickups. The front end of my V10 Excursion is right around 3,500 lbs without me in it, so X-code springs would have been overkill IMHO.
And you can get the springs from Tousley for less than $130 each. And they're a site sponsor!

For a truck without a diesel, or a heavy bumper/winch combo, I think the X codes would be too stiff. That being said, most everyone loves their V codes for gas engines. I would also like to point out that they do make a W code spring that is in between the two. It is not that common but they came on the F450s in a couple of years. That may give you an option if you are worried that the Xs may be too stiff and the Vs may not be enough. The OEM replacements would be the same weak aprings that came on the truck and the process would repeat itself.

I have a tough time believing that the V-code springs aren't enough, I've been trying to find the bump stops ever since I installed these and I have yet to succeed.

I agree, however if they've never driven any of the trucks that have any of these springs, they are just wondering. I did that for 2 1/2 years before I finally did it. I would recommend that they try to find an F250/350 with Vs on it(most popular) and take a ride in it or better yet drive it. I truly believe that Vs are for most X owners. I've driven F450s and F350s with snow plow preps and that is how I decided that I wanted the X codes. Couple that with all my stuff that I carry, the Cs were the answer for my rear ones.
