Hi everyone just a question I have a 1978 bronco with a 351m with headers and a edelbrock carb and manifold in front of a stock 4speed Trans recently it started letting out a puff of blue smoke from both tailpipes every time I shift when I let the cluch out and give it gas. Any ideas would be great im gessing the rigs but just thought I would see what others thought.
Coming form a fellow 78 owner, and coming from my own mind. If it were rings then it would smoke constantly. It sounds more like valves. Does it smoke at all when you fire the beast up?
Something i thought about is when you shift it drops the RPMs in the engine rapidly, what if when the RPMs dropped, a little oil got into the cylinders? Sounds crazy but makes sense in my head.
Ya thats the weard thing no smoke on start up but a bit of dieseling when you turn it off. And thats kind of what I was thinking about the oil getting in the cylinders like mabye when I shift it sucks it in through the rings or valves witch is the only two places oil could come from I gess I could do the valve seals or rebuild the heads and see if it helps eather why I would have a nice new set of heads. I also wondered if mabey foweled plugs might do this?
