I picked these up at a yard sale for $3, one works the other needs help. I think l'll mount under the truck, anyone that has done this suggestions would be appreciated. Just need some help as to where you have mounted them and what kind of hose or tubing to use also what kind of switch/valve.
Cool. If one isn't blowing rite sometimes you can take the back plate off and there is a tin diaphragm in there that you can flip over to try and fix it. Also if you don't have the trumpet for the end it will sound sick
I've got a little different set up than yours Rich, but I mounted mine where the exhaust goes up over the rear axle since my exhaust turns out in front of the rear wheel.

Mike I had to take the one that works apart and clean it up before it would work, It's amazing that whats in there could make so much noise. I took the one apart with the broken trumpet or what ever it called and found the diaphragm seriously damaged, it was bent and wrinkled. My son works in manufacturing and said he could take it in and get someone to put it in a press with a few thousand thousand pounds of pressure. If that doesn't work the company that makes them (Grover Products) is still in business in Los Angeles and has parts available. They have been making these things for over 70 years.

Nice set up Bill, it seems that forward would be the right way to have them, why would you want to honk at someone behind you.
I never understood mounting them forward, are you guys trying to catch bugs or water?
To many bugs in this country already and Drought in most states so we need bugs and all the water we can get.
On the serious side they make some covers to prevent the crap from going inside but it seems to me that would diminish the sound a bit. I'll have to look under my truck and see if there isn't a way to place them sideways so I could honk at cars on the side of me. or just mount them on the cab like the big rigs.
