carb to manifold gasket

Have a holley street dominator intake with a 1850-s carb. on my 75' F-100 (77' engine) 302.
when I place the carb on top of the intake (no gasket.....just to see) there is a triangle shaped space showing on both sides. my question .........is this going to be a problem with the fuel getting in there or creating a restriction of flow.?
should I seal it with jb weld before putting gaskets on? or just the correct shaped gaskets will be enough?

Thanks
Jeff

What do you mean a triangle shaped space? A gap into the plenum, or just part of the baseplate?
