It was an Ace store. I worked in both Maple Grove and Rogers. They were privately owned. Just the two stores. The owner could be a real piece of work sometimes but what a great learning experience. I think you will enjoy it.
That is pretty cool looking.
Thanks guys! Yeah, I was hoping for a good learning experience out of this job. It would be helpful in the future, I'm sure!
BTW Jake congrats on the job! I worked at a hardware store myself back in the day for about 6yrs or so. It was a Coast to Coast store to begin with and then switched to Ace.
I bet I am the lucky one to haul all that crap away after halloween.
Haha! I bet you will be. Load them on the flatbed along with the leaves.

Maybe you should build the box out of metal to "look" like barn wood...
Thanks Troy! I am looking forward to this job! Coast to Coast isn't a name most people my age would even know about sadly... But I've got a .22 rifle with that name stamped on it from the 70's.

I agree with you Brian. We just had a neighbor pull his barn down this summer by a company who uses all the good wood and reclaims it for some pretty cool projects. I still like going up to hay lofts in the old barns and really noticing how they were put together. No power tools back then...

Hello Brian.
haha yeah. its looking more like ill build a box since its pretty much impossible to find a 50s vintage longbox. LMC has every panel but added all up its like a grand.

Yeah, they are out there! The fun part is, that they aren't made by Coast-to-Coast. They were just stamped that, yet made by other companies as kind of an "economy line" My Coast-to-Coast model 40 is actually the same thing as a Marlin model 60. I know there were a few hardware stores that did this back in the day. Sears did it as well.
