Trying to assist long distance. This truck is misfiring 2&3 cylinders according to autozone. The owner who is not mechanically smart changed plugs, wires and coilpack. He just found the pcv unplugged. We think he has the wires wrong or something simple. We are in DFW Texas area and he is near Mexico border. Any thoughts before someone heads to the border.

The shop didn't give me a code the coil packs are good he also said was running lean he can't get to it till Monday but was thinking maybe a vacuum leak was fine then next day rough idle then engine light came on and was chockin pretty bad dieing out getting smoke little bit by cylinder 8

 

The lean , miss ,Vac leak I get . The smoke ? Where was it ? Was it coolant , oil , ??? . If using a shop , Let your shop see what is going on , then ck around to be sure they are giving you a good price to fix what they find .

 

Yea at a shop had a plug blow out on 8 they fixed that but since then kind a running little different the smoke was black didn't Smell Like antifreeze
