What bottoming? I know the only bottoming I ever had was my old, (replaced) very worn springs hitting the bump stops...and it only happened once when plowing. Now with the newer springs and the 2" lift the axle is 4" further away from anything, and I have yet to hit the bump stops.

And I have never seen a complete shackle kit for that much... To properly do a shackle kit you need front and rear... the cheapest I have ever seen was $250. Otherwise you end up with an off-set axle.

I do agree that a properly done shackle kit is an better option, but with the plow frame it was not an option for me. And for the price...$100 for 2" of lift, and maintaining ride quality is golden.

A lift block does NOT change the space between the bump stomp & spring pack. All you are changing is total vehicle height. So if those are original springs, you will still be bottoming out.

and if you are talking about the F250 in your signature, those sit much higher than an Excursion to begin with, which is why you probably aren't bottoming out.

The spring add-on's are just pieces of old springs someone cut up and made into a block. I would trust a solid block with a hole for a bolt more the those, but get them if; you like living dangerously, like wasting money, and like bottoming out. Neither method will affect the ride but the shackles will give you more clearance at the bump stop. Also; last time I looked those shackles came in all different lengths with free shipping. I wouldn't want that slippery stack of spring remnants in my truck.

Good call, I was just wondering why he didn't have a bottoming problem.
