Finished the EGR delete and oil cooler. Had to redo the turbo as I pinched an o-ring. Had to put new oil filter adapter tube in as it blew apart while doing the oil cooler. When I first started it, it took about 3 min of cranking as I have read on here. It still ran rough for a while and seemed to even out. Redid the turbo and filter tube and went for a short drive to check for leaks. Backing out of the garage, it hiccuped like it shut off for a split second then refired. Drove about 4 miles then came back to check for leaks. All was good, so I went for a longer drive to ring stuff out and check temps. About 20 miles into a 30 mile round trip, it did it again. Holding a steady throttle in some small hills, it cut out for a split second then refired. I saw the tach drop way down, but not quite to 0 before it took off. Does this sound like air remnants in the lines or something else? I have to drive 250 miles tomorrow to take my kid to college and don't need it dying along the way!
Not sure what to say cause when i did my oil cooler there wasn't any air to bleed off . My truck started up as if it was never apart . Now i just recently did HPOP and new injectors and had long crank and went though the air purging and drove it 15- 20 miles and never made a bad sound although i had an injector that wasn't quite plugged in and it had i stumble till i found it . Check all your connections make sure their all tight .
I had a problem with my IPR screen but it took a few hundred miles to show up. No bucking or dropping out. Just a guess but I agree with wulfman on the wiring. I'd re-click as many connectors as I could get to. Did you get everything to lay down right through the valley in front of the turbo and the little caps on the harness in the intake studs? Did you get the ground wire re-connected on the heat shield behind the FICM?
Hopefully I found it. The egr tps connector wires all had insulation rubbed or melted off. I found it outside in the dark and am taking it back in to tape it up. Again, hopefully that is it!
