upfitter switches in 01 excursion?

im sure this has been discussed before. is there a way to make the OEM superduty switches work in an 01 ex in the little dash cubby hole? If possible I'd like the brake controller too. i already have an aftermarket brake controller wired up that came with the truck, that id remove if the oem one will work.

I know I've seen it done I just can't find the link to post up. This is what I did. It's now color matched.

Yes, and they can configure it to however you want the blank spots on the left. I chose one gauge and a place for my tuner control. The color is the same it just looks funky under the flash of the camera. I bet you could set up the left part for your brake control.

Riff Raff diesel will make one for you, with switches/gauge holes, an awesome mod!

I second the F650 mod. looks great and is a factory piece. A pic of mine is on Riffraff site (3 holes & 3 switches).

Im considering it, but I'm planning on building a console so the f650 dash may be in the way

They make a smaller version for the trucks that have standard trans. That me be the route to go for you then.

If you are gonna build a floor console I'd just put the up fitter switches in the console. And if you're gonna do it, do it big. Make it look all airplane and dont forget to post pics.
Have you priced the switches?

I was gonna suggest putting them in the console as well, probably a cheaper route too.

I haven't yet. I've looked at a few on eBay. Really if I just do the switches, I don't need to worry about any factory wiring harnesses do I? I can just run my own power and grounds to them, and hook up whatever accessories I want from there. The only thing is the oem brake controller, which I'll likely never use because I don't tow much, but it'd be nice to have and just ditch the aftermarket one that came with my truck from the previous owner.

But yea I plan on making it look all airplane like for sure. Love that look. I'll find stuff to use switches on LOL!!

Save the controller, you might tow some day, lower left under the lower dash

yea thats where its at now. im not gonna ditch it, only reason i would is if i can get this one hooked up and working, id rather have the cleaner looking OEM one in the dash cubby rather than the mounted aftermarket one.

Hey, ufvj, I hear that some expedition consoles fit into our trucks nicely. You might want to look into that rout before you sink a whole lot of time starting from scratch, it'll at least give you a good jumping off point. The switches just have wires coming out of the back like you might expect, I don't think there is anything special about them, as far as wiring harnesses.
