rattle during acceleration
I have a 93 F150 extended cab 5.0, Automatic...when I accelerate from a cruising speed it begins to rattle under the truck just before it downshifts to speed up. I dont know if its coming from the front or rear but it vibrates and sounds awful..I have changed the EGR valve, hanger bearing, and removed all noisy heat shields, the drive train feels strong and the tranny doesnt have any problems (that I know of) and I dont think that its a loose part or what not...its driving me nuts and I need to figure this out...please help

Does it happen quickly or does it take a few seconds ??? If it takes a few seconds look for a vacuum leak where the plenum meets the intake.Hope this helps.

no it only rattles and vibrates when I am at a cruising speed..30,40,50 and try to accelerate slowly. it lasts as long as it takes for the tranny to down shift then it stops, it doesnt do it in passing gear either...only overdrive..but when I turn OD off, it still does it at slower speeds..like when there is heavy load on the engine...I am going to check the torque converter tonight and see if anything might be loose under there...ANY suggestions until I fire this out is greatly appreciated
