I followed guzzles maintenance website (http://www.guzzle7pt3.com/rdiff.php) when i changed my fluid and his instructions said it took 3 1/2 quarts of synthetic 75w 140 and if its limited slip add 4 oz of ford xl friction modifier. Both of those were exact measurements for my truck. How much fluid and modifier do you think you added?

I took the4 oz friction mod and poured it into my first quart of oil then it took 2 more quartz and then started to overflow it was like 3 quarts and a little bit out f the 4th then it was full
i would double check the e brake cus both of mine were hanging up not returning all the way so i had to tear alll apart and clean and grease little bit for them to release all the way
I have had a similar issue along with a similar issue in my boss's excursion. Peter (Duck Fan) suggested the we pull apart the TPS (Throttle Posistioning Sensor) and clean the contacts with spray. We did this in both vehicles and have not had any issues yet. Just my .02c
Well my rear diff cover is stock cover from AutoZone so it shouldn't be any higher capacity. I filled it until it started dumping out the overflow and then sealed it. I was told to fill it till it spilled out the overflow andcap it off. Is that to much?
Well heres whats happening now. It has just randomly stopped doing it hahaha. So im not going to worry about it. Im selling the truck now anyway. Im leaving PSD and going back to the old 7.3 IDI. Found a wicked nice 1994 F350 Super Cab Dulley im probably gonna get. I need to get a heavier truck for things im going to be doing in the near future. Im not one for heavily modding engines or anything like that. Ill probablly put a different turbo on it but im tired of working on my PSD all the time. With the IDI parts are cheep and in the end its only like 10 horsepower less then the stock PSD. I love the old style too.
Same topic, kinda, but I jacked up my rear end and spun, spinned? ...whatever....and they turned, freely, not easily. Question is does the limited slip cause them to spin together in the same direction? I guess I am just used to an open diff that spins opposite.
