ok i decided to put my new 31s on my 87 today and when i took the wheels off the lockouts came with them. somebody on another site said they are sopposed to but i need to replace them anyway that person said i could only get them off another 87. so my qeustion am i just limited to an 87 f150 or bronco if so its gonna be expensive new and beotch to find some good low miled ones. anybody know what these run new
Right yes but these almost seem a little better to me. You dont got to rip the front end apart to change the just pull of and put on i never new they did this till today i thought some was broke or seriosly wrong. Now just need to confirm what yrs they did this.
The 87 & 88 F-150 and Bronco had the "slip off" style locking hubs, so yes they will come off with the wheel. You can convert them to the regular type with some work. Here is a link to one kit on Bronco Grave Yard :1980-92 Front End Rebuild Kit. Or hit your local junk yard for the spindles, outer axle shafts, hubs/rotors for the conversion.
So 88s got them too. I got almost half of what i need but looks like to inclined of a project that id probly never finish i think i would prefer these any way easier to change out
