Rear passenger hub heating up

Okay, so I'm stumped. My rear passenger hub and wheel have been heating up much more than the others. Sometimes too hot to touch more than a second when you can basically grab on the others. I have taken the tire off, rebalanced it, made sure it and the wheel were normal, taken out the axel shaft, checked inside, regreased the bearings and replaced the inner seal. Everything looked good. Plenty of fluid in there and the bearings looked perfect. Before I did that I checked the e brake boots to make sure they weren't eating into the rotor. They looked normal, no abnomal wear and the inside of the rotor doesnt look scored or anything. Yet after all of that, even with the mechanic from the auto skills center there with me looking at all of it, we cannot figure out why its still heating up. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Did you check to make sure the parking brake was not out of adjustment?

I havent checked but since the pads had plenty of life left and there werent any wear marks on the inside of the rotors like I assume there would be. Perhaps I'm wrong.

Before I replaced my rotors, calipers, pads and e-brake shoes,if I used my parking brake the right rear e-shoes would hang up after I would release them. I would have to tap on the lever on the outside of the drum to get them to back off. If you can get someone to apply and release them, and you watch the lever that moves the shoes you will be able to tell if it is in fact letting the e-shoes back off properly

We did that. We had the truck on the lift, the mechanic was at the back and I applied and released the E brake a couple of times. It backs off and the hub spins pretty smoothly

I would say that its the caliper slide pins are seized and gripping the rotor. You will probably need to buy a new bracket and pin kit. I just had to buy a bracket from Ford. It cost me about $94.

Already did that actually. They move nice and smooth.

Hmmm, then when you checked the bearings, did you torque the nut back to the factory specs. There is a special socket that is needed.

And you "greased" the bearings"?

Yeah i had the special 4 prong tool, took it right to factory specs. There's a special thing, which looks like 2 suction cups that i used to pack the bearings

Just curious why you packed the bearings? They are lubed with gear oil. I do know that most of the time, the gear oil will wash the grease out after a while.

Chiltons said to, and I thought the same thing but what does it hurt to have double the lube?
