02 ford f250 diesel wont stay running
It starts but wont stay running.
Things Ive replaced in the last few days.
cam sensor
fuel filter -2
fuel pump
glo plug solenoid
fuel pump relay
air filter
starts after several attempts runs ok for a few min then dies
could cam sensor have been bad that i put in? It was one I have had a couple years been in glove box since before the recall.
please help...thanks.

Sounds like it's running out of fuel. Possible cause is a restriction in the pickup inside the fuel tank. You can test this by getting yourself a 5 gallon fuel can, some fuel line and a cheap inline filter. Fill the jug with diesel and plumb it to the back of the fuel pump (with the inline filter pre-pump).
If your truck starts and idles fine without dying then you might have a restriction in the tank.

Have you checked the oil level?
Another thing you can do is start the engine and wait for it to die then shut the key off immediately. Then open the fuel bowl drain and have a container handy to collect any fuel that comes out. Should be about 16 oz.
Also check the oil level in the HPOP reservoir after it dies. Should be pretty full of oil....about 3/8" from the top.

This photo might help.
If the reservoir is empty then the engine will shut down. That is what supplies the HPOP with oil. The HPOP pressurizes the oil and routes it to each cylinder head. Once inside the head, the high pressure oil is what actuates the injectors. When checking the HPOP reservoir level....make sure you clean the area round the plug before you loosen it. You don't want any dirt or debris to fall down in there.
