Hey guys.. My 6.9 diesel is smoking everybody out going down the road it uses to be little smoke but now it's constant.. I just put new injectors in couple months ago.. I was wondering how to check injection pump.. Or does anybody no what else it can be
The truck has 198,000 miles idk when's the last time it's been changed I bought it 2 years ago and the truck sat for 2 years before I bought it..the smoke gets bad when I go on highway for few miles then drive into town then it smokes out the streets.
Hey guys I talked to a guy that has a 96 7.3 turbo he said his pickup smoked a lot like bad ip but he took it in and there was a voltage box or something that went bad made the voltage drop lower and he got it replaced.. He don't remember what it was.. Does anybody now what this called
Dinger....this truck is not a powerstroke, it doesnt have a engine computer to tell the engine what to do. its all mechanically injected. I would venture a guess at running some diesel kleen in the IP....remove fuel filter, pour diesel(liquid gold) back into tank...fill the filter with diesel kleen...run the engien for a few seconds...shut her down...let her sit overnight....start her the next morning and drive the **** outta it.
