Ok, well the only reason I've been thinking about this is bc I recently got the truck up and running (drivetrain and other minor fixes) and my main gripe on the truck is that it feels weak on the bottom end.
The E4OD does need some attention but it doesn't feel like its slipping.
Yesterday I took it down the hwy, 55mph @ 1500rpm and every little rise in the rd it seemed like she was going to fall on her face and I'd have to press the throttle a good 1/2-3/4 the way down to get her to accelerate or down shift. The shift sensor is within specs but may need to be fine tuned.
Also from a dead stop it is sluggish, if the tranny was giving (I assume of course) the motor would still feel stout, I just wouldn't move. But with mine it just... Well it just don't go haha. No rainy day wheel spinning.
This truck is an ext cab 4x4 w 3.55, i had regular cab 4x4 '88 years ago w the C3 & 3.73 gears and while it had its problems, still felt stronger. I know the gearing and wieght does make a diff but this much??
It just seems I'm haveing to work the throttle an awful lot more than I should.
I'm thinking the timing may be off a tad and the injectors are a lil loose.
No fuel leaks that I've found (none that I haven't fixed already) and its fairly smooth running.
I broke the timing cam advance piece on the pump when replacing the TPS. I adjusted it only by sound n feel, like I said its smooth running but I think this could be the issue.
I just don't Wana go fix it crazy ($$$) and rebuild a pump that's in good shape and replace other pieces that don't need it just yet.
