I was wanting to replace the AOD in my bronco to and E4od. It is an 87 and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what I would need in order to do this. Also, is it a good idea or should I stay with what I have? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
If you just HAVE to have an E4OD, you'll need a lot of wiring, a replacement computer, the dash button to kill the O/D, and your driveshafts will have to be cut for length & rebalanced.
Amen, keep the AOD....But, if you are dead set on it, I will be more than happy to sell you the E4OD I had rebuilt a year and a half ago. Along with ALL the necessary computer and wiring harnesses and such...heck, I'll swap you tranny for tranny! Give me your AOD, and you can have my E4OD lock, stock, and barrel!
No, there is nothing wrong with it. I'd just take the AOD any day over the E4OD.
