Wondering about wheel choices for my 87 F150. I'm pretty sure the hub pattern is different than later model F150's (97+). Is there a way to swap over late model hubs? Lightning wheels (97-01) look really nice
If not, where are some places/price that you guys/gals found wheels. I'm not into 22" chrome shiat. 17's or 18's would be nice enough.
There a lot of manufacturers that will make wheels for your truck, but they are all custom jobs, and usually cast about a grand for 17's. Dobbs and Sears I know both sell American racing rims, which can be ordered to fit the almost any lug pattern, and they're actually cheaper than most custom manufactures just because they dont use billet aluminum. Personally, im going to try to find some chrome 15's from a 92-96 and pust some taller rubber on em, when i have the money to, anyway.
By the way, where did you get those ground fx for your truck? I have been searching for something like that for mine, but never found any........
I put Ultra 50/51s that are 16 by8 and Cooper 265s.I looked around and got them for under 900.$ They are almost a 32" tire.I am happy with the ride and the noise level of the tire. SAV :-) :-) :-)
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 17-Sep-02 AT 07:45 PM (EST)]i just got a set of american racing Nitro 147 series, there polished and look really good. i got them at jack williams, they were like 640 for 4 and chrome lugs. the size is 15"x8" and i ahve 31" BFG ATs mounted on them and they look nice as hell. but the chrome 92-96 wheels look nice, my dad has them and i wanted them to being with but couldnt find a nice set.
ps...ur wheel size is 15x8 and bolt pattern is 5 on 5 1/2....97 and up are 5 on 135mm or something like that.
There is a company that makes the newer style Lightning wheels for the older trucks. www.afswheels.com Check them out, they seem to have pretty good pricing also. Hope this helps.
