have a 1991 ford explorer. batt has a drain. pulled all fuses but drain still there.if i disconnect the alt, and the drain goes away would this mean the alt is shorted? I have a volt meter on the dash and every thing seems good there.I have been threw 2 batt. cant find the short. any idea

Replace the alternator. A friend of mine had this same problem with a Lincoln.
