I have considered adding one to my 2003 F150. My question is where would I find one tat would mount on the post going along the front dindow(dash). Are there any other places to mount one that looks good?
The trans temp guage would just have to be the proper size to fit in the A-pillar mount that you bought. The pods are sold seperate from any guage. I got a pod and guages from summit in the past.
I got an A-post pod, but it would have required removing the assist handle that my truck has (Hey-I'll sell it cheap if you decide to go that way!).
VDO makes a 2-1/16" gauge that matches the Ford OEM gauges quite well. It has white numerals on a black background with a red pointer. It includes a green bulb cover.
Actually, I mounted mine in the panel that snaps between the speedometer and the steering column. The gear selector curves nicely above it in D, and it can be seen above the steering wheel center spoke. I think it looks best there, but I'm not sure I would recommend it unless you're fairly experienced, as it is a tight and difficult installation.
