How is the propane usage when running the generator as your sole source of 110, and cooking, heating, etc? Can a couple of tanks still stretch out a few days?
Doug, I've had the same generator in my last 3 fivers. It has a total of 55 hours on it(25 was the test) and I run it every other month for about 30 minutes or so, when I think of it. That being said, I wanted to know about the propane usage as well. So, with my Sandpiper, I started the genny up with two full propane tanks(30 lbs) and a spare. I turned on both ACs and used everything I could think of during the day. What I found was that I got an average of 8 hours under FULL load from the generator per bottle of propane. Both tanks, plus the spare, went a little over 24.5 hours running everything in the unit. That being said, using normal day to day items and starting it a few times a day, and not under full load, two 30lb tanks would last several days in the event of a power failure, or boondocking. The only thing I would recommend is adding a second battery or going with 6Vs.

Well, the pup is out of surgery and the vet couldn't get all of the tumor. It is sent off to pathology even though he is quite certain it is cancer from the color, feel, base and striations of it. After the results come back, we will probably be referred to the University of Georgia Vet School. We go pick her up in about an hour.

Rain and lower temps came through today and much cooler and wet. The sky is clearing but the temps are supposed to be in the 50s and 30s this week with possible snow in the mountains. Ready for a true spring!

Montana 3121RL ended up getting...didn't need a 40' so settled for a 35'. All we could afford getting out of the Fuzion...picking it up Saturday. Sailun tires...hydraulic leveling and the trail flex pin box. 2 awnings and the outside entertainment center. 12K empty and 2385lbs pin weight.

If you are offered an extended warranty, I'd seriously look at it. Congrats on the Montana. We've loved ours after the initial hate, but it comes and goes with these things.

Thanks...same thing on our Fuzion but once the bugs were corrected its been a great unit. Just didn't need a toyhauler. The build quality actually looks pretty good on this unit...still keeping my fingers crossed!! Plenty enough room for the wife and I plus one grandson at a time!

Who would the extended warranty be through? I know you can get trailer warranties from Good Sam but I haven't looked into it.

You can get them through Good Sam, but some dealers sell one strictly for their dealership. Others sell the Good Sam ones brokered through the dealer making it look like it's theirs when in actuality it's not.

Monty, thanks for the info on the generator propane usage. Glad the puppy is back home. Hopefully the reports will come back clean, and a visit to UGA won't be needed.

Swamp Don, congrats on the new rig! Very nice. Hope you get lots of enjoyment out of it.

Woke up to 50° this morning and clear skies. Yesterday was beautifully sunny, so I sort of figured last night would be cool. Today should also be clear and sunny. A few weeks of this to dry everything out would be fine with me, since I have projects and chores backing up due to the saturated ground. The way it has been working for us in the last couple of years seems to be flood or drought though and nothing in between. Hopefully the next drought didn't start this past weekend.

Howdy Roy, Jim, Eric, Gerry and all. Have a great day!

Well guys the trailer is in a holding pattern. Dealer called and want's 6K more dollars above what we settled for. Wife and I decided to drive Saturday to look at a Grand Design from another dealer we talked to at the show. They claim they can get us a better price on the GD that we wanted originally. We decided if the Montana dealer wants to play games we can too! They probably don't know I was a sleezy car salesman back in the 1980's!!

Funny they think they can just add $6,000 to the agreed price and keep you as a customer. Hope the GD works out for you. They are also very nice!
